Day 1: Senaru Village to Crater Rim

  • Trail Thickness: The trail from Senaru Village to the Crater Rim is well-established and moderately challenging, with some steep sections and rocky terrain.
  • Distance: Approximately 6.5 kilometers (4 miles)
  • Temperature: Daytime temperatures range from 20-25°C (68-77°F), while nighttime temperatures can drop to 10-15°C (50-59°F).

Itinerary:

Morning:

  • Start your day early in Senaru Village.
  • Register at the Rinjani Trek Center, obtain necessary permits, and meet your guide and porters.
  • Begin the hike from Senaru Village, ascending through lush forests and open grasslands.
  • Along the way, you’ll have stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.

Afternoon:

  • Enjoy a packed lunch on the trail.
  • Continue your ascent, passing through various vegetation zones.
  • Arrive at the Crater Rim (Plawangan Senaru) in the late afternoon.
  • Set up your campsite and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the crater and Segara Anak Lake.
  • The temperature starts to drop as evening approaches, so make sure to bundle up.

Night:

  • Have a warm dinner at your campsite.
  • Stargaze and soak in the serene atmosphere of the Crater Rim.
  • Rest well for an early start the next day.

Day 2: Crater Rim to Senaru Village

  • Trail Thickness: The descent from the Crater Rim to Senaru Village is moderately challenging due to the steep terrain.
  • Distance: Approximately 6.5 kilometers (4 miles)
  • Temperature: Similar to the previous day, daytime temperatures range from 20-25°C (68-77°F), and nighttime temperatures can drop to 10-15°C (50-59°F).

Itinerary:

Morning:

  • Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the crater and Lake Segara Anak.
  • Enjoy breakfast and break down your campsite.
  • Begin your descent back to Senaru Village.

Afternoon:

  • Stop for a packed lunch on the trail.
  • Continue your descent, taking in the changing landscapes.
  • Arrive back at Senaru Village in the afternoon.

Evening:

  • Celebrate your successful hike with your guide and porters.
  • Return any rented equipment and collect your trek completion certificate at the Rinjani Trek Center.


Remember that trail conditions, distances, and temperatures can vary based on weather and individual hiking pace.
Be sure to bring proper hiking gear, clothing, and sufficient water and snacks.

Price Includes:

  1. Pick-up from any location within Lombok and transfer by private vehicle to Senaru and Sembalun.
  2. Accommodation in a comfortable hotel in Senaru or Sembalun for one night before commencing your trek.

What Do You Need to Bring When Climbing Rinjani?

When trekking Mount Rinjani, it’s important to be at a good fitness level and capable of carrying your personal daily load. All personal items should be packed in small-sized bags, not exceeding 4-5 kg. Here’s a list of essential items to bring:
-Backpack (30-40 Kg size)
-Torch or flashlight
-Good trekking shoes
-Toiletries
-Sunblock/lotion
-Cap
-Camera
-Small towel
-T-Shirts (3/4 pieces)
-Long trek pants
-Windproof jacket
-Shorts (2 pairs)
-Sunglasses

Note: Prepare your daypack within the 5 kg weight limit. Your main luggage can be stored at our office during the trek. Bring only what you need; leave the rest at our office. Having some cash for tipping the guide and porters is recommended.
