Itinerary

Day 0 - Arrival Day

Upon your arrival at Lombok Praya Airport or any other ports in Lombok, such as Bangsal Harbor, Teluk Kodek, Telok Nare, or popular tourist destinations like Mataram, Senggigi, and Kuta Lombok, our representative staff will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Senaru.

Senaru village serves as our base, where you’ll meet your trekking guide and porters. You’ll receive a briefing on the trekking procedure and prepare for the journey. If time allows, we’ll guide you to visit Sindang Gile waterfall as a warm-up before the Mount Rinjani climb the next day.

Day 1

Wake up at 6:00 am and have breakfast around 6:30-6:40 am. Our specially arranged mountain vehicle will be ready to take us to Sembalun village, a journey of approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. We’ll arrive in Sembalun around 8:00 am for registration at the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) at an altitude of 1051 m. The trek starts to Pos 1 (Pemantauan) at an altitude of 1300 m, with an estimated walking time of about 2 hours.

After a brief rest of 5-10 minutes at Pos 1 (Pemantauan), we’ll continue to Pos 2 (Tengengean) at 1500 m, with a walking time of approximately 1 hour. A short break of 5 to 10 minutes will be taken at Pos 2 (Tengengean), followed by the journey to Pos 3 (Pada Balong) at 1800 m, taking around 1 hour. A 2-hour rest is scheduled at Pos 3, during which your guide and porters will prepare lunch and a hot drink (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or lemon tea).

Following lunch and rest, we proceed towards Sembalun Crater Rim (Pelawangan Sembalun) at an elevation of 2639 m. The walking time for this stretch is approximately 3 hours, including a prolonged steep climb. We’ll camp overnight at Sembalun Crater Rim, offering splendid views of the sunset, sunrise, Segara Anak Lake, Sembalun village, and the summit of Mount Rinjani.

Day 2

We’ll wake up at 2:30 am, have a light breakfast, and depart at 3:00 am to start the trek towards Rinjani Summit (3726 m). The estimated walking time is around 3 hours and 20 minutes.

The initial stage involves a moderate climb for 120 minutes, followed by a fairly easy but long trek. The last hour becomes very steep and challenging, with loose stones that require careful navigation. Upon reaching the Summit, you’ll have breathtaking views of Lombok Island, Bali, Sumbawa, and Segara Anak Lake. After sunrise, we’ll descend to the Sembalun Crater Rim for a hot breakfast and a break.

After adequate rest, we’ll descend to the lake and hot spring. The trail is steep and slippery, requiring caution. It takes 3 hours to reach the lake and hot spring area, where lunch will be provided. A short 100m walk leads to the hot spring, offering a place to soak and experience its healing properties. Our porters will prepare lunch, and we’ll spend the night in tents by the lakeside (2000 m).

Day 3

After lunch, we’ll leave the lake and ascend to Senaru Crater Rim (2641 m), our campsite for the night. Senaru Crater Rim offers an incredible sunset view over Mount Agung in Bali and the smoke rising from the new volcano on the lake’s edge.

Day 4

After witnessing a beautiful sunrise during breakfast, we’ll leave Mount Rinjani and descend to Senaru village through the rainforest. If luck is on our side, we might spot the rare black monkey. The descent takes approximately 5 hours, with lunch taken along the way. We’ll arrive in Senaru village (601 m), where a car will transfer you to your next destination.
